Metro Detroit ESL is excited to announce the conclusion of our current semester on May 19th, 2026. We are grateful to all our dedicated students and passionate instructors who have made this semester a success.
As we wrap up another session of learning and growth, we look forward to welcoming both new and returning students for our next semester, starting on September 8th, 2026.
Fall Semester Details
Our fall semester will begin with in-person registration and class placement testing to ensure every student is matched with the class that best fits their needs and current English level. All classes are offered in-person, providing an engaging classroom experience and the opportunity to connect with fellow learners and teachers.
Metro Detroit ESL is proud to offer free classes for adults, with only a $15 fee for the required textbook. Classes are open to all levels of English proficiency, beginning, intermediate, and advanced, so everyone is welcome, regardless of their current level of English understanding.
Fall Class Information
- Start Date: September 8th, 2026 (You may begin after the first night if need be)
- Time: Classes begin at 6:30 PM every Tuesday
- Location: 31329 John R Rd., Madison Heights (Inside of Metro Detroit Chinese Alliance Church)
- Entrance and Parking: Please use the entrance and parking lot at the back of the building
- Childcare: Free childcare is provided during class time
- Class Format: In-person, with a combination of textbook and interactive learning
- Cost: Classes are free; the only expense is a $15 textbook fee
- Who Can Attend: Adults from all cultures and backgrounds are welcome

How to Register for our ESL Classes
All registration and placement testing will be conducted in person at the beginning of the semester. You may also register online on our website prior to the first night.
This process helps to ensure that each student is placed in the appropriate class level and has the opportunity to meet instructors and learn more about our program offerings.
